About us
Welcome to Where the Roses Grow
Formerly known as Herbs and Homesteading
Nestled in a cottage studio in Port Adelaide, Where the Roses Grow is a love letter to beauty, nostalgia, and the quiet magic of the everyday. What began as a humble gardening journal has blossomed into a thoughtfully curated floral and candle studio that celebrates slow, seasonal living and meaningful moments.
I’m Kelsey—florist, candle maker, storyteller, and ever-curious homemaker. Inspired by the wild grace of the English countryside, my work is rooted in the romantic, the rustic, and the real. Every arrangement I create, every candle I pour, is made with deep intention, often pulling from the pages of classic literature, seasonal blooms from my own garden, and the comfort of memory.
My Journey
Herbs and Homesteading was born during a season of deep reconnection—to the earth, to motherhood, and to a gentler way of life. It was a place where I documented my daily rhythms: hands in the soil, bread rising on the windowsill, my little boy trailing behind me with muddy boots and a wildflower in hand. Over time, this simple life began to unfurl into something more. What started as a passion project gradually grew into a blossoming business—one that combines floristry, candle crafting, and styling services under a single poetic vision.
As the business evolved, so too did its name. Where the Roses Grow is a natural next chapter. It speaks to my love for old-world blooms, for growth through gentleness, and for the stories that live in every petal and flame.
What I Offer
My work focuses on three main offerings:
🌸 Floral Design for Events – From christenings to intimate dinners, hens’ days to editorial shoots, I create whimsical, garden-inspired florals that reflect your story and the mood of the season. I specialise in soft, romantic palettes, heirloom flowers, and artistic arrangements with a hand-touched finish.
🕯️ Signature Candles & Home Fragrance – Hand-poured in small batches, each candle is custom-blended with premium fragrance oils. You won’t find these scents anywhere else—they are exclusive to Where the Roses Grow. A few favourites include Garden Gate (tomato leaf, basil, heirloom rose), Farmshop Mornings (earl grey, oat biscuit, lavender sugar), and Honeycomb Parlour (wildflower honey, almond cake, warm milk).
🌿 Styling & Seasonal Offerings – With a background in both creative design and homemaking, I offer event styling, seasonal wreaths, and bespoke floral decor. Whether it’s a bouquet for your kitchen table or a full-scale event setup, each creation is layered with charm, authenticity, and heart.
A Business Rooted in Story
I come from a long line of gardeners and herbalists, and I carry that lineage with me in everything I do. I believe in the power of nature to soothe, to inspire, and to bring us home to ourselves. My aesthetic is often described as English countryside meets whimsical cottagecore—think climbing roses, dusty pink silks, antique vases, and the scent of lavender on a warm breeze.
Looking Ahead
The future of Where the Roses Grow is blooming with possibility. From launching a flower and candle gifting service, to hosting dreamy seasonal workshops, to one day opening the doors of a physical studio—it’s all part of a slow and intentional unfolding. And I’m so glad you’re here for it.
So pour yourself a cup of tea, wander through my little world, and stay a while. There’s magic tucked into every corner.
With love and wildflowers,
Kels xx
