A few weeks ago, I made a Pinterest board called Her Majesty’s Spring Table to collect all the things inspiring me for spring. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but the name stuck - and now it’s become my way of describing the whole vibe I want for the season ahead.
It’s not about setting a perfect table. It’s an aesthetic. A feeling. The way I want my home, my work, and even how I dress to feel this spring.
Part of it comes from the series I’ve been watching lately, and part from my recent wander through Carrick Hill here in Adelaide. Walking through those gardens and past grand rooms layered with history really lit a creative spark. The mix of elegance and garden charm is exactly what I want to channel.
For me, Her Majesty’s Spring Table looks like Hunter wellies worn with a soft cottage dress, vintage style hair pins tucked into loose waves, and a crystal chandelier throwing light across floral wallpaper. It’s gingham tablecloths with pastel pink blooms in simple jugs, light floral candle scents drifting through the room, and French Earl Grey tea poured from a Royal Doulton teapot into mismatched cups. It’s that balance of refinement and comfort - the special and the everyday sitting together naturally.
This is what I’m bringing into my florals, candles, and styling work right now. Little details that make a moment feel considered - whether it’s a lunch with friends, a quiet morning pottering around the house, or baking something for the joy of it.
From My Kitchen: Lemon, Honey & Thyme Shortbread
This has been my go to bake lately - buttery, fragrant, and perfect with a cup of tea on a sunny afternoon.
Ingredients
250g unsalted butter, softened
100g caster sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
2 tbsp runny honey
300g plain flour
Method
1. Preheat oven to 160°C (fan).
2. Beat butter and sugar until pale and creamy.
3. Stir in lemon zest, thyme, and honey.
4. Add flour until a soft dough forms.
5. Roll to 1cm thick, cut into shapes, and bake 12–15 mins until just golden at the edges.
6. Cool completely and serve.
Spring has a way of making everything feel possible again. For me, Her Majesty’s Spring Table is just a reminder to treat the everyday with a little more care and beauty - to let the good china out, to pick the flowers, to light the candles, and to pour the tea. It’s not about perfection, it’s about creating moments worth remembering, no matter how small.
Have a wonderful week lovely ones,
With love and wildflowers,
Kels x
